Sweet and Savory Crostini

Ingredients List
  • 1/2 cup – extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons – agave syrup
  • 1 – loaf French or Italian bread, regular or gluten-free
  • 1 teaspoon – kosher salt for garnishing

Preheat oven to 400°F.

In a small bowl, add olive oil and agave syrup. Whisk until smoothly blended.

Cut the bread into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a large baking sheet. Using a pastry brush, coat each side with the agave/oil mixture.

Bake, approximately 5 to 8 minutes on each side, until all is golden brown. Garnish with kosher salt if desired. Cool and serve.

Yields 12 to 18 slices.

Delicious served with chutney and a sprinkling of crumbled goat cheese.
